Arena puts the desk in front of the window: daylight falls straight onto the work surface and the shelves open out to either side. The navy fluted wall behind the bed is the only dark plane.
The bed is kept low with no shelving above it, leaving a wide clearance in the middle of the room. Desk length is made to the width of the window.
